I read a book whose title is "The Call of the Wolf". Ruki lives in the nature. He had heard something when he was in the bed, so he opened his eyes and lay still and listened. He got to know that the call is the wolf, so he shivered. He knew that he would have to go out to meet that wolf. It is important for him. Next morning, he got up and saw his father standing by the fire outside. His father asked "Did you hear the call?". Ruki nodded. His father told hime to go to the cave in the wood and be alone there for many days. It was a big test for him. His father took him into the wood and gave a bag of food, a knife and some sticks for fire. After that, his father left him alone. In the cave, he made a small fire and waited for the wolf. Over the next few days, he didn't sleep much, and he didn't eat at all. Then Ruki heard the wolf's call at night time. The cave was so dark that he could not see past his small fire. He knew the wolf was not far away. He waited for a long time, the wolf came out of the shadows at last. He gave the wolf some foods. The next day, Ruki walked back to his family. Of course, he passed the test.I wondered that there was such a test now. I can't belive that in Japan.
